It was planned that I would board a plane bound for Kenya today. Samaritan’s Purse leadership saw fit to delay my arrival in Kenya one week. Their reasons were clear, if international reporting on same were not. I was a bit shaken by this sudden turnabout in the course of my day. I remind myself that unpredictability is fundamental to life in East Africa.

I was delighted when I learned that my travel to Sudan would take me through Kenya. This change of plans has introduced a certain poetry. I will now arrive in Kenya the same day I first did so 4 years ago.

In all honesty, there is a significant upside.

If this turmoil winds up uniting the Kikuyu and Luous in some way, it will be worth it. We have two parties and they have two tribes vying for the government.

If the turmoil there brings about agreements between the Kikuyu and the Luou, it will be worth it. We have two parties vying for government in this country: they have two tribes.

Toby- I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you, but I wish you God’s Blessings for your travels and that while I certainly hope you have a wonderful, productive time, I have to hope the time goes quickly, atleast for Maureen’s sake.. :) And thanks, by the way, for making Maureen a little bit cheesy!
    God Bless
