I predict that jellyfish or jellyfish-like creatures will eventually arise in the North Pacific Gyre which are able to digest plastic. Why would I say this? Well, there is a new biome forming in the Pacific Ocean; and jellyfish have a demonstrated knack for incorporating unique energy consumption techniques.

And since you are what you eat, the jellyfish will eventually be plastic. Which makes me think, this is a toy that has never been marketed. Kids would love to have jellyfish in the bathtub. Pet jellyfish. Trained jellyfish. Peanut butter and jellyfish. And don’t forget we need a jellyfish comic to round out the funny papers. They, like ducks, are inherently funny.
Also, is there no market out there for jellyfish hats or wigs? We could start harvesting jellyfish: open jellyfish farms. Eat it as a delicacy. Pretty soon they would be near extinction. Then we would create jellyfish reserves and zoos. Ect.

Jellyfish is in fact a delicacy in many parts of the world. I had to eat it once in Hong Kong and it is the closest I’ve ever come to throwing up right then and there at the dinner table.
